Tyn y Cornel May 23

12 Artists at Tyn y Cornel hotel in mid-Wales.

Weather is always foremost in our minds,  When the rain lets up, we are out and we try to get as much out door painting done as possible.  Many of us are surprised that we actually enjoy painting outdoors with just a paint brush, paper and watercolour paints. 

The hotel we are staying at has 5 starts for location.  Tyn y Cornel could be anywhere in the world.  Remote without the Impala!  Staff are so accommodating and helping to make our painting holiday one to remember.

On Tuesday we started by doing some notan sketches from Abergynolwyn and then moved onto free time.  Some embracing the afternoon drawing more than others but all encountering Gill at the bridge.

 It was a bit of a shock this morning when I asked everyone to paint Lake Tallyn in front of the hotel.  Not only because it was still drizzling but because I asked them to leave their pencils and pens inside.
