Sue’s Tips for today:
Lay down your light colors first, work towards the darker colours.
Have patience – there’s no rush.
Start with the light colors first because once you lay down the dark colors, it’s hard to undo. Due to the transparency of water colour, your light colors won’t show if they’re covered up by dark colours.
The white and light areas of your painting are coming from the paper, so plan ahead and keep in mind which areas you want to keep white.
Masking fluid is a great way to reserve areas of white on your painting but used incorrectly can be ugly.
Tim sent me his amaryllis painting and I liked the message he added so much that I decided to share it with everyone:
Flower of Hope:
This flower standing tall reflects: we are all standing tall together to fight this invisible war and come out stronger, more compassionate and closer as a global community
