Love affair with my bike –
I bet you have wondered what my ‘bike’ looks like. Its a bog standard hybrid bike that has done many miles. It is like my faithful chariot. I am happy on my bike. Lost in my thoughts and on the look out for things to bring to you.
Never ask a non driver for directions, never ask a non walker for directions and NEVER ask a non cyclist for directions. Apart from a couple of steep hills that appeared – ‘oh no there are no hills that way’ I did find some lovely rape fields for you. I did think that there may be a painting in there for Let’s Create.
Anyone care too have a go.
On my way down to Doxey Mashes I spotted this gate. It made me wonder what was over the other side. No I did not open it, nor did I stand on a stone to look over the gate. The rough steps and tangle interested me though and I started to imagine a story. I wondered how long ago it was that someone walked down those steps.!
At the bottom of this blog, there is a video – just to remind you what I look like! Jokes aside, its about Let’s Create. Many people have asked what its all about, so I decided to tell you what its about instead of asking you to read. Make a coffee, click the button (you know Steve likes his buttons) and have a listen.
Again on my bike I came across this section leading to the disused railway line – meeting it from the new houses at Doxey. It was a bit steep to ride up so rather than try riding up and fall into a great outcrop of nettles, I decided to get off my bike and push it up the rough section. I slowed down and look at what caught my eye.
More reference material for Let’s Create!
One of the things I have been doing is taking myself off with some lunch, buying a coffee at a push button machine at a garage (the only place you can get a costa – what have we come to – and its not HOT) and sitting inconspicuously on the grass under a tree or on on a curb with my sketch book. The quality of the drawing depends on how comfortable my bottom is!
Can anyone guess where the photo below is? Following are two sketches from my sketch book.
AND enough from me – don’t forget to click on the button below for more on Let’s Create. I will be back next Wednesday with more from my bike – as long as it stops raining.
